Englewood Christian Assembly began in 1975 as a dream in the heart of Rev. Ralph Allison. The first meeting was in the upstairs office which they called "the upper room." About 18 attended and they named the church Full Gospel Temple. Five months later they rented a church at Union and National. There the church grew.
In 1976 they rented the old Concord United Methodist Church at 1123 1/2 Main Street, near I-70. The church remained at that location for 10 years. The congregation changed its name to Englewood Christian Assembly.
In 1978 the church purchased 5.28 acres of land at 415 North Main Street, and began construction of Phase I in 1985. In 1987 Phase I was completed and that year the church joined the Assemblies of God as an Ohio District affiliated church. In 1988 Pastor Allison resigned and the church elected Pastor Dan Crabtree who served until 1996. During his ministry, Phase II was completed on August 7, 1994.
In 1996 Pastor Crabtree resigned and the church elected Pastor Jim Arnold. In 1998 the church progressed to General Council status, and it elected official board members. In 1999 Pastor Arnold resigned and Rev. G. Edward Diller was elected pastor on March 7, 1998.
In early 2009, Pastor Diller resigned and in October the church elected Rev.Timothy Scarbrough as Pastor. Pastor Scarbrough is an Ordained Assembly of God minister who has served in Indiana, Illinois and South Carolina. He has brought a great Holy Ghost anointing to the church and is impacting our community. We invite everyone to come in and enjoy the presence of the Lord with us.
